Shermag goes bankrupt, Bombardier gives me some green
I sold one company at a gain and the other at a loss on Friday. I sold 1 200 shares of Bombadier (BBD.B.TO) at 3.40$ a share which I had originally bought 10 days ago at 2.95$ which gave me a net return of 15% or 511$ net profit
One of the first stocks I bought where Sermag (SMG.TO), 10 000 shares at 10.50 cents a share for a total value of 1 069$ but dropped to a penny. Recently though, they shot back up to 6.5 cents a share so I decided to get rid of them before these shares became worthless. I lost 60% on the deal, or 419$ but it could have been much worse if I held onto them much longer so I consider myself lucky.
Buying 5 new companies
On Friday, I also bought a few more shares too
- 8 000 shares of Azure Dynamics Corp (AZD.TO) at 5 cents a share
- 1 800 shares of Amerigo Resources Ltd. (ARG.TO) at 30.5 cents a share
- 2 000 shares of Norbord Inc (NBD.TO) at 67 cents a share
- 2 500 shares of Homeland Energy Group (HEG.TO) at 21.5 cents a share
- 7 500 shares of Breakwater Resources (BWR.TO) at 9.5 cents a share
I have now grown my portfolio value by 6 000$ from a low of 20K to now, 26K in two weeks time which is fantastic, I learned from Canwest and now things are rolling as they should!
Plans for Monday
I plan on buying some more stuff on Monday as I have 4 700$ to top my portfolio from the profits (losses) I got off my chest on Friday.
