NRI.TO is being gamed!

Friday, October 30th, 2009

I was send a msg from a reader regarding what happened to NRI.TO when the stock dropped in value by more than half and two minutes later, went back to up hovering around 35 cents. So, what happened?

Luckily for me, when this whole mess happened, my cottage had no internet for over a day and a half, otherwise, seeing all this happening realtime I would have probably sold as the stock was plummeting and got a rope out of the shed! I would have died from a heart attack after seeing it go from 37 cents a share to 13.5 cents within just a few minutes!

So, what’s going on behind the scenes?

NRI.TO is a small Canadian company with lots of cash, good products and a big contract that is waiting FDA approval to enter the USA. For the past three months, the stock wants to go UP but a trader called ANONYMOUS is connected with a computer loaded with shares, and each time the stock goes up .005, it sells lots of shares to keep the price down!

This is direct manipulation of a stock, illegal! So, I called NRI and talked to their finance head, there was nothing they could do so I called the TSX who sent me to IIROCK, who are suppose to be the market regulators (market police). They took my information that I had gathered and did NOTHING to fix the problem. This is 100% illegal and has been going on for months and yet they do nothing so I sent them an e-mail asking them what I needed to do to get a job there getting paid crazy money to sit on my ass and do nothing. They didn’t reply back.

I have reviewed the bullboards etc. and lots of people lost lots of money while ANONYMOUS cleared close to 18 million dollars, got a bunch of stock for close to nothing and even got away with the whole thing while IIROCK plays dumb.

I’m looking foward to Nov 4th now, that is when, I hope, they get FDA approved and the stock shoots up!

Diversifying out of NRI.TO

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Having only one share to watch (NRI.TO) made my trading and news on this blog cease to a halt but I’ve decided to divest myself of 30% of NRI.TO so that I can keep playing the market while I wait for this stock to shoot upwards!

Diversifying and buying some stocks

Other investors have told me to have no more than 20% in any one stock but I still believe in NRI.TO so I will keep the remaining 70% but here are some stocks I have bought with my 30% sales.

  • 46000 shares of Brigadier Gold ltd  BRG-V at .02 cents
  • 14000 shares of Journey Resources corp  JNY-V at .05  cents
  • 8000 shares of Habanero resources inc  HAO-V at .135 cents
  • 7900 shares of Pinnacle Mines ltd  PNL-V at .23 cents
  • 10000 shares of Red Pine Exploration  RPX-V at .085 cents
  • 17250 shares of Seprotech System inc  SET-V at .04 cents
  • 6500 shares of Breakwater Resources  BWR-T at .28 cents
  • 16000 shares of Orsu Metals Corp  OSU-T  at .05 cents
  • 46000 shares of Tvi Pacific inc  TVI-T at .065 cents
And of coarse I still got my 58000 shares of Nuvo Research Inc  NRI  that i paid of an average of .325 cents a shares.
Discovering Bullboard
After I discovered the Bullboard, my trading has improved quite a bit, for example, on the above shares I bought, I’m already up 13% after a week! I take advantage of the honest investors with lots more experience than me to tell me their opinions and teach me better ways of trading. It’s very useful to me. If I am unsure about something, they can send me more information so I can do a very good decision on my stock purchases and sales.
Pumper and Dumpers
One segment of trading that you got to watch-out for are the Pumpers and Dumpers, these people will do anything to get a stock to shoot up with lies and then sell when the stock reaches its peak and it usually nosedives after.
I got a very positive feeling for the upcoming week!

Getting rid of my US Stocks

Monday, June 8th, 2009

I decided to get rid of all my US stocks since my last update on 2xStocks.com at a 15-20% loss. These stocks included General Motors, Citigroup, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and Sirus. With the Canadian dollar increasing in power over the greenback and these stocks not doing much of anything, it made no sense to keep them as I was getting dinged at both ends keeping them. Since my last update, here is what I have been busy doing.

Locking in some profits

  • I sold off my 2 000 shares of Shore Gold Inc. (SGF) at 75 cents a share after paying 41.5 cents 13 days ago giving me a 77% return on my money.
  • I sold all my Antrium Anergy (AEN) shares at 76 cents a share after paying 41 cents 35 days ago for all 1 200 shares.
  • I sold 5 000 shares of Taiga Building (TBL) at 20 cents a share after buying them for 11 cents 42 days ago.
  • I sold 3 000 shares of Dominion Citrus Income at 35 cents a share after paying 20 cents a share for them 14 days ago, a 65% return!
  • I sold 1 000 shares of Anvil Mining for 1.35$ a share after paying 1.05 cents a share 45 days ago, giving me 29% profits.
  • I sold my 3 000 shares in Automodulator Corp. (AM) at 32 cents a share after buying them at 19 cents a share 26 days ago which gave me a 72% return.

I got rid of two stocks that lost me 18%, my 1 000 shares in both UTS and LRI which I got tired of holding.

Buying some future profit makers

  • 25 000 shares of Earthfirst Canada Inc. (EF) at 3 cents a share
  • 36 000 shares in Turbo Power Systems Inc. (TPS) at 2.5 cents a share
  • 105 000 shares in Airiq Inc. (IQ) at 2.5 cents a share
  • 19 000 shares in Groupe Bikini Village Inc. at 4.5 cents a share
  • 1 000 shares of Uranium One at 1.75$ a share
  • 1 000 shares in Semafo Inc. (SMF) at 2.27$ a share
  • 7 500 shares in Atlantis Systems Corp (AIQ) at 3.5 cents a share
  • 100 000 shares in Excellon Resources Inc. at 1 cent a share

Taking a big gamble

I bought Catalyst Paper Corp 5 times already which gave me very good returns so this time around, I bought 50 000 shares at 17 cents a share, about 8 000$ worth! I got screwed when I gambled on Canwest and again with Citigroup, let’s hope that my third try works better! Already, it’s up 20% but I am hoping for a nice return in a very short time on these guys!

15K to 30K in less than 6 months! I did it!

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

It took me five and a half months but I finally doubled my money using only the stock market. Yahoo! I would like to thank the investors who bought my shares high after I bought them low, the Toronto Stock Market for giving me the easiest job I ever had and the frozen squirrels that have given me sustenance over the cold winter months in my wood cabin!

I started off with 15K and now I have 30K which is very nice indeed… more buying power to make even more gains on my original investment! My portfolio shows an exact value of 30 071.08$ :-)

Selling some nice gains

I decided to drop AIG, the 2000 shares I bought gave me an 11% return in 14 days at 1.39$ a share but I am tired of this company already… I just can’t long-haul these guys! I also sold my 180 shares in General Electric (GE) for 12.66$ a share, 6% for 9 days “work” isn’t bad. I sold my 1500 shares of WTN at 1.45$ giving me a 75% return in 22 days, my 3600 shares of HAE at 5 cents a share giving me a 71% profit for 20 days and 7500 shares of RWR at 18 cents a share, giving me 87% returns for 19 days :-)

Now… what’s next?

I now have just under 10 grand now to invest back into stocks… some serious decisions need to be made!

Cleaning-up with some more buying and selling

Monday, April 20th, 2009

On Friday I decided to clear-out three stocks that have been stuck in stagnation for a little longer than I would like:

  • 3 500 shares of BKX
  • 1 000 shares of CLL
  • 213 shares of CRU

These stocks I didn’t make nor lose money on, just broke even.

Magellan Aerospace Corp gives 97% profit!

I also sold my 2 000 shares of Magellan Aerospace Corp (MAL.TO) for 70 cents a share which I bought 16 days ago for 35 cents a share… giving me a 97% profit or 680$ gain.

Buying some new stocks

I also bought three new companies as well

  • 7 000 shares of African Copper Plc (ACU) at 5.5 cents a share
  • 50 000 shares of Quebecor World (IQW) at 2.5 cents a share
  • 800 shares of Citigroup (C) at 4.06$ a share

I figure that Citigroup is the world’s biggest bank, AIG is the biggest insurance company and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are the two largest mortgage companies so once the economy gets rolling again, all of these companies should be in the green.

My 12K$ Mistake… lessons learned the hard way!

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Here is where all my stocks stand right now:

  • Antrim Energy Inc (AEN.TO)  1200
  • ARISE Technologies (APV.TO)  2000
  • Anvil Mining (AVM.TO)  1000
  • Bombardier (BBD-B.TO)  1200
  • BNK Petroleum Inc. (BKX.TO)  3500
  • Coalcorp Mining (CCJ.TO)  4000
  • Connacher Oil Gas (CLL.TO)  1000
  • Compton Petroleum (CMT.TO)  1100
  • Crew Gold Corporation (CRU.TO)  312
  • Davie Yards Inc. (DAV.TO)  5000
  • Denison Mining (DML.TO)  1500
  • Haemacure (HAE.TO)  3600
  • High River Gold Mines (HRG.TO)  4200
  • Komunik (KOM.TO)  10000
  • LAB Research (LRI.TO)  1000
  • Lundin Mining (LUN.TO)  800
  • Magellan Aerospace (MAL.TO)  2000
  • Mecachrome (MCH.TO)  5000
  • Railpower Technology (P.TO)  5000
  • Shermag Inc. (SMG.TO)  10000
  • Sandvine (SVC.TO)  1000
  • Taiga Building Products Ltd. (TBL.TO)  5000
  • TLCVision Corp. (TLC.TO)  2000
  • UTS Energy Corporation (UTS.TO)  1000
  • Allen-Vanguard (VRS.TO)  4000
  • Western Canadian Coal (WTN.TO)  1500

All those stocks are on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

It’s all about timing: Missing on 500% profit!

From the starting of my stock market adventures, I bought 10 000 shares of Quebecworld (IQW.TO), I paid 4 cents a share for them. Last week, during my garage sale, I sold them for 3 cents a share…. a week later they were up to 28 cents a share before going back down to 16 cents a share. I sold at a loss when I could have sold at a fantastic multiple because I was tired of this stagnating stock. Overall, I am still up 55% on my initial 15K investment in the stock market in a little over 4 months which is still doing great and beating most of the pros in the market! Timing is important because if I would have jumped into the stock market a year ago, these gains would probably have a big minus ahead of the percentage.

Ballard Power System gives me 49% gains!

I decided to sell all my shares in Ballard Power System (BLD.TO) which I bough on January 29th, 2009 for 2.40$ a share, I bought 1 500 shares originally for 1.60$ so this ia a very nice return of 49% in two months time :-)

The 12 000$ Mistake

A little while ago I did a garage sale in which I sold 20 companies in order to make some more money to invest into Canwest, well, out of those companies, four of them went up like crazy the following week by up 600%! I calculated that I would have made a net profit of 8 000$ from that alone, throw-in the four thousand dollar loss I took on selling my worthless Canwest Communications stock and the total comes to 12K!

A little bit of buying… a little bit of selling…

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

I decided to sell Horizon Betapro, which I bought only 11 days ago for 4.24$ a share (320 shares total) for 5.85$ which netted me 35% return on my investment! A little over 3% daily return on money is always a wonderful thing! This raised me 1 850$ in Canadian funds which I can invest elsewhere to begin recouping my “paper losses” in Canwest, though it looks like that will also turn around shortly.

On Wednesday, I plan on acquiring three new companies, I reviewed by current stocks in 27 companies and 24 of them are on very solid ground while 3 of them, I should have reviewed a little more closely as, in hindsight, I shouldn’t have bought them in the first place.

In the future, I will try to be more careful in my stock choices, I will take a deeper look at the company balance sheet , things I sometimes skimmed over. I am anxious to find-out when the stock market hits bottom at this point, this crazy up and down is getting tiring.

Slowly losing all my gains!

Friday, March 6th, 2009

On Monday, I bought 4 new companies.

  • 1 000 shares of Grande Cache Coal (GCE.TO) at 60 cents a share
  • 4 000 shares at 12.5 cents each of Allen-Vanguard Corp (VRS.TO) for the second time, hoping to make a profit from this stock
  • 4 000 shares of Resin Systems Inc. (RS.TO) at 17 cents a share, for the third time
  • 5 000 shares of Oilexco Inck. (OIL.TO) at 14.5 cents a share

The next day, I had a hundred dollars left in my trading account so I decided to buy 3 600 shares of Haemacure Corp (HAE.TO) for 2.5 cents a share.

February Blues

Considering I almost doubled my money (15K to just shy of 30K) over a six week period, February has been absolutely horrible for me. This month alone, my portfolio lost almost 30% of it’s value! I made a few trades but what is really hurting the most right now is still Canwest, if this stock can turn-around, I will probably sell half the shares if I can get close to what I bought them for several weeks ago and buy some companies that know how to do more than go down! I have a lot of companies I want to invest in but my stock market funds are all tied-up at the moment, I need to sell some stuff to get more but so far, everything is going in the wrong direction… and I don’t sell at a loss. I guess the good news from all this is several months down the road, I am still up an overall 120% on my initial 15K investment though I far prefered my 195% I enjoyed a little over a month ago :-)

Playing the stock market these days is like crossing the Canadian Rockies by foot , it is hard to go up but easy to go down.

Discovering Horizons Betapro Crude Oil Bull!

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

Things have been really busy for me for the past month, I haven’t been able to update this site as much as I would have liked as the Stock Market usually has its worst performance in the months of February and September. I have been actively searching for my next gold mine and I think I got it!

Sold my stocks in WNS and RBM

I originally bought 10 000 shares of Warnex Inc. (WNX.TO) for 5 cents a share and sold them a few days ago for 57 cents a share, netting me a profit of 45% over a 30 day period! I also sold my 5 000 shares in Response Biomedical Corp. (RBM.TO) for the second time, bought at 11.5 cents and sold this time around for 16.5 cents a share netting me 40% return on my money in a two week period of time :-)

Horizons Betapro Crude Oil Bull

A friend of mine who was very well-off mentioned this stock to me and when I saw what happened to it, it’s tough not to want to buy a tonne of this companies stock! Just look at this chart!

HORIZONS NYMEX Crude Oil Bull P (Toronto: HOU.TO)

HORIZONS NYMEX Crude Oil Bull P (Toronto: HOU.TO)

This stock has a 52 week range from upwards of 200$ to now, is available for as little as 4.66$!!! This is crazy considering this company is profitable, has no debts and we all know that crude oil is only going up as time goes bye. This is a huge opportunity, maybe even bigger than Canwest! So, I bought 320 shares of HOU with the money I made from the sale of my WNX.TO and RBM.TO stocks. I wish I had more money to put into this stock but until I make room by selling other stocks at a profit, I will be on the sidelines for a little longer.

Canwest costs me 1 500$!

This Friday was my biggest paper loss ever, I own 20 000 shares of Canwest  and when the stock market lost 2.88%, I lost 7.5 cents a share of this company which wasn’t very fun! I am sure it will bounce back though, so no worries.

Canwest drops again… no big deal!

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

I am watching Canwest Global Communications very closely since I have (depending on the day) about 10 thousand dollars in this stock (20 000 shares). The bad news just keeps coming which makes me wish I bought all my shares in them a little later as they just keep dropping!

Why 10 thousand dollars isn’t a big deal

I am up over 14 thousand dollars profit since I began on the stock market at the end of November so this is monopoly money I am gambling with. I knew when I first started on the stock market that I had to play with money I could afford to lose and so, this may be a big amount of money but if Canwest went under tomorrow, I still would have made more money on the stock market than if I had put this money into the bank.

Canwest will revive

Canwest is being hit by a double whammy at the moment, sure, they have a lot of debt and banks are refusing to lend them more (sound familiar) but they are a very asset rich company with heavy influence is Canada. The other problem they are suffering from is the “economic crisis” which is a psychological , not a “reality” founded one relating to this company. People are panicked, they aren’t spending like they use to and as a result, advertisers are holding back investing into their future. In a recession, there are two ways to get through it stronger, one of which is investing in your future.

I haven’t lost until I sold

I have a lot of money in Canwest but if you look at their history, this is a very well performing and strong stock and just happen to get kicked in the head and balls at the same time… the result is pain but recovery will lead to a smarter, more agile and profitable company. This isn’t a bad thing. Consider this, two years ago, their stock was worth over 10$ and now it dropped as low as 40 cents… time to buy! If I had bought their stock at 10$, I would be freaking out right now, but I bought them when they were heavily undervalued and can go nowhere but UP in my opinion.

Hello, my name is Marcel and I want to welcome to my blog about how to double your money using nothing but the stock market! I have managed to do this myself and look forward to sharing my knowledge with you. I will be recording each and every entry on this blog.
